Life at ISBR


SPORTS

The ISBR College Athletics Department offers an intercollegiate program that promotes intellectual maturity and program excellence. The department strives to prepare men and women to be student athletes distinguished by integrity, winning effort conduct in competition. In all endeavors the program looks to talented students as the model for learning, leadership, and teamwork.

ISBR College is committed to pursue athletic excellence on the courts and the playing fields and to maintain high academic standards for student athletes. ISBR Athletics collaborates with the academic and co-curricular programs of the College to support the holistic education of students. The college teams of Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Cricket participate in various local and national level tournaments.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

The cultural events can be broadly classified into competitions, festivals, workshops and celebrity shows. The committee aims to bring out talent in the student community in all the possible forms whether its music, dance, theatre, literary skills, sketching or other fine art styles. In order to showcase these talents various competitions like ‘Management Fest’, ‘Annual Day’, 'Drama Night', 'Rangoli' are calendared throughout the year. The committee organizes various festivals like Independents Day, Nature Club, Diwali, Holi, Yoga Day, and Christmas along with few regional festivals like Ugadi. To enrich the students with various hobbies such as in theatre, dance, instrumental and vocal music, art etc. workshops are conducted which act as a platform nurturing budding talent. In addition, there are celebrity shows which add color to student's life in campus.

STUDY SCHOLARSHIP

ISBR College in association with Vidyasaarathi scholarship for young and motivated students which is a technology-enabled initiative by NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited (NSDL e-Gov) to bridge the gap in education finance in the country through an online platform. This initiative is supported by Centre for Digital Financial Inclusion (CDFI) and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) as a central trust for administering & managing scholarships under Vidyasaarathi.

FORMATION OF CELLS

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued directions to set up a permanent cell and a Committee to develop guidelines to combat sexual harassment, violence against women and ragging at the colleges on the basis of the Hon'ble Supreme Court Judgment and guidelines issued in 1997 to provide for the effective enforcement of the basic human right of gender equality and guarantee against sexual harassment and abuse, more particularly against sexual harassment at work places to be proactive by developing a conducive atmosphere on the campus, where the status of woman is respected. Considering the above guidelines, ISBR College has established following Cells and constituted the Committee along with local police and Advocate as a member of the committee:

  • Sexual Harassment
  • Counseling Cell
  • Discipline and Anti-Ragging Cell
  • Grievance Cell

INTERNATIONAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

LEDMAC Education Services of UREKA Group, UK in association with ISBR College for International internship Program along with Global Immersion Programme in Dubai, Canada, UK which can provide very relevant international exposure & perspective to students and also giving insights into the real business world & teach useful tools through this academically rigorous, professionally designed programme.

CSR ACTIVITIES

As part of the community outreach programme of the ISBR College, all students along with 3 faculty and staff members participated the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), which aims to achieve Swachh Bharat by 2019, as a fitting tribute to the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, which in rural areas shall mean improving the levels of cleanliness in rural areas.

At ISBR, we decided that both students and employees should spend time in some way to clean our area. Thus, we decided to partner with ELCIA and our efforts towards the Swachh Bharat Mission. The students were very enthusiastic and were able to clear 12-15 fts of streets that had done over the years.
